Location: Boise, ID - Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) Campus 

Status:  Full Time; Employed 

Schedule: Approximately twice weekly (24 hour shifts) 7pm to 7pm, 81-85 shifts per year as scheduled in collaboration with 4 other OB Hospitalist partners.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led 450+ provider multispecialty group seeking a fifth, experienced Obstetrics Hospitalist to join an established, vibrant provider group and rapidly growing practice.  Saint Alphonsus OB Hospitalist physicians are patient safety coordinators on Labor and Delivery; they support other subspecialists, including Maternal Fetal Medicine, Neonatology, non-OB Hospitalist providers, and Certified Midwives for full 24/7 continuum of care services for the Family Maternity Center; 1400 deliveries annually.   

OB Hospitalists coordinate maternal transports in conjunction with the Maternal Fetal Medicine providers for high risk maternal conditions.   They are part of the Level I trauma team when maternal patients are involved and they teach Family Practice residents rotating on the Family Maternity Unit.  OB Hospitalists are the physician champions with OB Simulations and Drills, and serve as clinical extender for the International Refugee Care Clinic and MFM. 

OB Hospitalists are committed to a multi-disciplinary team-based approach to care, delivered in a high quality and compassionate manner to heal body, mind and spirit.  OB Hospitalists are closely involved with monthly Perinatal-NICU meetings to review, coordinate care and establishes management plans for high risk pregnancies.  Well-qualified candidates should be passionate and knowledgeable about women's OB health issues, possess a strong surgical background and strong sonography skills.  

Support: Level III+ NICU - the highest level of neonatal care provided in the state of Idaho, provides 24 hour comprehensive specialty care for premature and high risk infants delivered at SARMC or transported to SARMC NICU, as well as the sickest of full-term infants.  On campus MFM, Genetic Counselors, Pediatric Surgery & Pediatric Gastroenterology.  On site 24 hour Anesthesia, Radiology and Emergency Medicine physician coverage.  On Campus OB/GYN clinic with 20 providers and community network of employed and allied primary & specialty care clinics.   


- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree

- Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency. Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology - or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment.

- Experienced candidate with strong surgical skills and experience; Strong OB sonography skills preferred.

- Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC – Boise. Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy, DEA. PALS and NRP certification.
