A Message from the Co-Chairs

We are thrilled to be serving as Co-Chairs for the 2018 Annual Clinical Meeting (ACM), scheduled this year for September 27-30 in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. As residents of the northern U.S., we are delighted SOGH has begun regionally locating its annual conferences, and chosen Cleveland, The North Coast city, to host this year’s event! Cleveland is home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Museum of Art (Voted the #2 Art Museum in the U.S.) and the Cleveland Clinic (U.S. News and World Report's #2 Hospital in the U.S.). Cleveland is also circled by an extensive network of Metroparks, known as the Emerald Necklace.

Our conference will be located in the newly remodeled downtown Hilton, adjacent to the Global Center for Health Innovation.

We are committed to continuing the tradition making this year’s ACM even better than the last and will communicate often as we solidify our plans. Mark your calendars now and see you in C Town!

Please consider presenting your research at the upcoming SOGH ACM, September 27-28, 2018 at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio.  We are looking for posters in the range of original research that support OB/GYN Hospital Medicine.  Projects could consist of any of the following:

  1. Original clinical or basic science research
  2. Quality improvement project: Impact study on an intervention or innovative protocol or initiative
  3. Case report

Your poster will be in the presentation hall for attendees to view starting with the opening session.  There will be a poster session from 5-6 pm September 29 where authors may stand by their posters to answer questions.  The author of the winning poster will be given the opportunity to give a 15 minute presentation during the morning session September 30.  Monetary award for the best poster will consist of funding attendance to the 2019 general ACM.
Please submit a paragraph summary of your poster via email with "2018 ACM Poster" in subject line to [email protected]  by July 15, 2018.

Don’t miss our keynote speaker, ACOG’s President, Dr. Lisa Hollier open the ACM General Session on Thursday Sept. 27th at 2:00 PM. Dr. Hollier will speak on an issue close to her heart - preventing maternal mortality. Take advantage of this excellent opportunity to hear and engage a leader in women’s health on this crucial topic. This year’s ACM will highlight the role of Ob/Gyn Hospitalists in championing patient safety in the hospital setting. We will be discussing the process of streamlining practices to prevent human error, ways translate your quality improvement projects into research, and how to care for ourselves in the process. New general session options have been added as an alternative to our optional workshops.

Always in demand are the SOGH Simulation Workshops, these will be held at the state of the art, Cleveland Clinic SIMS center. We have also brought back some favorite workshops and added new hands-on courses to continue to improve our practice, such as ultrasound and laparoscopy for the OB Hospitalist.

Attendance is limited at all workshops and are expected to sell out therefore, early registration is restricted to those also registering for the Early Bird ACM general sessions. Ala cart registration may be offered after 7/15 if space is available.
